As a key member of the Finance team, your major responsibilities will include bookkeeping, assisting in the month end close process, managing accounts receivable, assisting with accounts payable, assisting with customer subscriptions / onboarding and supporting the finance team with a variety of analytical tasks as required.  

Detailed responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit card accounts and payment processing clearing accounts.
  • Matching and collecting supporting invoices / receipts to support bank and credit card transactions.
  • Performing month end processes and preparing monthly working papers as necessary.
  • Assisting in the management of accounts receivable throughout the month on behalf of our franchise owners. You will work with GetintheLoop customer support staff and will follow up directly with franchise owners and occasionally directly with business customers to resolve unpaid amounts.
  • Assisting with the preparation of semi-monthly franchisee royalty payments, monthly reports and you will be a point of contact for franchise owner questions and concerns.
  • Assisting in the management of business customer subscriptions, including onboarding, account maintenance / changes, and account cancellations.
  • Maintaining procedural documentation as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years progressive experience within a company’s finance department.
  • An organized and analytical financial person with excellent attention to detail.
  • A team player who is eager to learn and able to switch gears to work on multiple priorities.
  • Ability to develop solid working relationships with team members at various levels of responsibility within the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and the ability to connect the dots and follow data flow in various financial information systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in the technology industry considered an asset but not a requirement.
  • Experience with Xero considered an asset but not a requirement.

A strong candidate will need to be:

  • Experienced enough to have gone through several complete financial cycles, preferably in the tech sector or another fast-paced industry.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented and must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within deadlines and report in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly with multiple non-financial partners.
